rradar’s Founder and CEO, Gary Gallen, has been recognised as one of The LDC Top 50 Most Ambitious Business Leaders for 2024, in partnership with The Times.
Created by trusted investment partner LDC – part of Lloyds Banking Group – The Top 50 celebrates entrepreneurs demonstrating remarkable ambition, and is now in its seventh year. This year, the programme received more than 700 nominations showcasing the exceptional individuals building successful and growing businesses right across the UK.
Alongside Gary, the business leaders featured in The LDC Top 50 for 2024 are together making a real impact by creating jobs, promoting social equality, championing sustainability, expanding internationally and integrating purpose into their business practices. They operate from 39 towns and cities across the UK and span every sector of the economy. Collectively, they employ 5,146 people and generate revenues of more than £1.1bn.
John Garner, Managing Partner at LDC, said: “It’s been seven years since we launched The LDC Top 50 and in that time, we’ve had the privilege of meeting some truly remarkable people. Our business leaders for 2024 show relentless drive and determination in their growth ambitions, and I’d like to congratulate them on everything they’ve achieved so far. This is certainly not the end of their success, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds.”
Recognising the inspiring vision behind rradar
To be named in such a prestigious programme demonstrates the strength of Gary’s vision for rradar. As a leader with a purpose, a man driven by a desire to make a big difference, his inclusion in the Top 50 Most Ambitious Business Leaders for 2024 is worthy recognition of that.
Indeed, as a defence lawyer for over 25 years, Gary’s perspective enabled him to spot the recurring problems that his clients faced and how it would make more sense to help them stop those problems happening in the first place. He knew there was a better way to do this, and so he founded rradar to enable businesses to navigate risk through a unique combination of advisory, insurance and private legal services.
Speaking of this recognition, Gary said, “LDC is such a respected institution, and I am humbled that they can see the value I see in rradar as a force for good.
“It is my experience that nothing worthwhile in life comes without a good helping of dedication and hard work. In business, as in so many other areas of life, it is all about getting out of the comfort zone, pushing boundaries, refusing to take no for an answer.
“When I created rradar, I was joined by a lot of very clever, very capable people, who came along with me for the ride, and I am very lucky that they had faith in me to do what had to be done. This recognition is for them too – as a team, we all work incredibly hard at rradar, turning my vision into a reality that can reach out a helping hand to businesses in need, guiding them through the complex world we live in, and keeping them on track, strong and ultimately, unstoppable.”
He continued, “I could see the value in using the latest technology to develop a proprietary platform of products so that clients could access legal information and take steps to prevent problems arising. It was always my ambition to blend technology with legal advice so that I could help many more people.
“This has become a key differentiator for rradar, and is underpinning our ability to scale and translate into other jurisdictions. I am proud that today, rradar has over 250 employees across multiple offices, supporting 125,000+ businesses and handling thousands of weekly contact points with clients”.
And finally, and very importantly for Gary, it’s never just about business. He continues making a difference to people’s lives in other ways, and this year, has pledged to raise £75,000 for charities by taking part in challenging projects including running the London Marathon, undertaking another 100-mile bike ride and completing climbs of some of the world’s highest peaks.
